As I mentioned when I wrote about Jimmy Waite last week, I have a few of his autographed insert cards stashed, because I was such a big fan of his. Here's one from his days with the Phoenix Coyotes:
It's from the beautiful 1998-99 Be A Player set (card #260) by In The Game, all foil, signed in black sharpie with his then-jersey number (28) included, which most players don't do for inserts because they have so many to sign. It shows him wearing one of the most unique and bizarre jerseys the NHL has ever let happen, a bizarre mix of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks' mid-1990s colours, a cubism-inspired coyote and a bizarre checkered pattern on the collar, the arms and the waist.
It is probably best admired while on hallucinogens, but not after ingesting too much alcohol.
